Install a ModLock ZIP with DMM
Download your mod, add the ZIP to Deadlock Mod Manager, and enable it before launching the game.

Before you start
Install Deadlock through Steam and close the game. Open DMM and check that it has found the correct Deadlock installation. If you need to change it, use the game-path setting in DMM.
This guide is for skin, sound, and other VPK mod ZIPs. SwapLock is a separate Windows application; follow its own setup instructions instead of importing its application ZIP into DMM.
Add the downloaded ZIP
- Download one mod file from ModLock. If the page offers several outfits or variants, choose the one you want. Keep the ZIP intact; you do not need to extract or rename its VPK first.
- Open the local import screen. In current DMM, open Mods Library → Add Local Mod. In the version shown in the video, choose Add Mods from the sidebar.
- Select the ZIP. Drop it onto the upload area, or click the area and select the downloaded file.
- Review its details. Give the mod a recognizable name. Author, source link, description, and preview image are optional. Choose the appropriate category if prompted.
- Add it to the library. Confirm with Add or the equivalent import button. Wait for the import to complete, then find it under Mods Library or My mods.
- Enable the mod. Imported does not necessarily mean installed. Use the mod’s enable or install control. If DMM asks which files or variants to use, select the intended ones and apply the selection.
- Choose Launch Modded. If Deadlock was already running, close it first so it can load the new files.
If another mod uses the same hero
Check any conflict warning before keeping both. Two mods that replace the same files can override each other. For a single skin replacement, disable the old skin for that hero. Use DMM’s load-order controls when you deliberately combine compatible mods.
Updates and troubleshooting
DMM treats ZIPs added this way as local mods. It does not automatically check them for GameBanana updates. Return to ModLock for a new release, then replace or reimport the updated file.
If the skin does not appear, check that the mod is enabled, the correct game folder is selected, and you launched with mods. After a Deadlock update, check DMM’s configuration or recovery controls and restart the game. If only one mod causes a problem, disable that mod and check its ModLock page for an update.
See DMM’s local import instructions and getting-started guide for the current interface. For help with a ModLock download, contact us with its page link and filename.
