Privacy policy

ModLock is a Deadlock mod catalog operated by velvetfog. This policy explains how information is handled when you visit modlock.gg, www.modlock.gg, or download files from files.modlock.gg.

Information handled when you visit

You can browse the catalog and download mods without creating a ModLock account. ModLock does not run advertisements, use a separate visitor analytics service, or accept visitor file uploads. The site does not ask you to enter payment details or complete a registration form.

Our hosting and delivery provider, Cloudflare, processes technical information needed to deliver pages and downloads and protect the service. This may include your IP address, browser and device information, requested URLs, request times, and security-related information. We may see traffic and security information made available through Cloudflare’s dashboard. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

If you contact us, we receive the information you choose to send, such as your email address and message. Messages to [email protected] are forwarded through Cloudflare to a Gmail inbox, so Cloudflare and Google process those messages to deliver and store them. We use correspondence to respond, handle your request, and address problems with the site. Please do not send passwords, API keys, or other sensitive information.

Fonts, videos, and external links

The site loads fonts from Google Fonts. Your browser connects to Google to request these files, which sends technical information such as your IP address and browser information. See Google Fonts privacy information.

Some mod pages show YouTube video thumbnails, which are loaded from Google’s servers. Clicking a video loads a YouTube player in privacy-enhanced mode. These requests share technical information with Google. Privacy-enhanced mode does not mean that no information is processed. See YouTube’s explanation of embedded videos and Google’s privacy policy.

Mod pages also link to services such as VirusTotal and sites named in source credits. Following an external link takes you to a service with its own privacy practices. Visitors’ downloaded files are not automatically sent to VirusTotal by the website; the report links point to checks of files made available by ModLock.

Cookies and browser storage

The current ModLock site code does not set its own cookies or use local storage to save your browsing history. Cloudflare may use cookies or similar technologies for security and traffic management, depending on which protections are active. See Cloudflare’s cookie information.

Embedded services may use their own browser storage when you interact with them. You can manage cookies and site data in your browser and choose not to play embedded videos. Blocking storage or external services may affect some features.

How information is used and shared

We use information to deliver the website and downloads, understand operational problems, prevent abuse, and respond to messages. Service providers process information as needed to perform their roles. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or necessary to protect the service or other people.

We do not sell visitors’ personal information or use it for targeted advertising.

Cloudflare and Google operate internationally, so information may be processed in countries other than your own. Their privacy policies explain their handling of international transfers.

Retention

We keep correspondence only as long as reasonably needed to respond, resolve the matter, and meet applicable legal obligations. Technical information is retained according to the relevant service settings and provider policies. We do not promise immediate deletion of information held in provider logs or backups.

Your choices and requests

Depending on where you live and the law that applies, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information, or to object to or restrict its use. To make a request, contact [email protected]. We may ask for information reasonably needed to verify and handle the request. We can only act on information we hold or control.

Children

ModLock is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact [email protected] so we can review and address it.
